When a defendant has not complied with one of
the probation requirements from the negotiated
plea, or sentence imposed following a
trial the supervision or probation the
prosecuting authority choose to present a
Petition to Revoke thereby resulting in the
defendant being re-sentenced to a more severe
penalty.
There are various of reasons which a Florida
Probation Officer may accuse you of violating
your probation. Whether you are accused of
breaking a "technical" term or condition,

"Technical" violations of probation may include
the the act of changing your residence prior to
obtaining the appropriate approval, failing to
pay fines or restitution, or failing to report

considered a serious violation, and may be
subject to lighter punishment by the court and
your probation officer may choose to give you a
warning instead of filing an arrest warrant.
If the court issues a warrant, the sheriffs
office is directed to execute the warrant by arresting the
defendant.
